Best practice for SL4

Hello,

I'd like to put a page somewhere which helps a new simpad user to do something useful with the device. Most people will probably use it for surfing and pdf/document browsing, so it would be nice to have a setup-howto which describes how to do such a specific installation

It could be structured like this:

  • install hh.org bootloader
  • get rid of your home-partition
  • install an Angstroem image (which one to start with?)
  • setup wifi
  • install browser (which one?)
  • install document viewer (which one?)

However, as you can see, there are still some things to straighten out at my end (without a memory mod, space runs out so fast ...). However, question is: where is the best place to put such a howto?

Best, Highmem

Q: However, question is: where is the best place to put such a howto?

A: We can add it to Linux or split the Linux page into more pages. Another possibility would be to add it to the knowledge base and link to it from the linux page.

btw - thanks for contributing to the wiki :)

Linux installation edit

Please don't hit me too hard, but I took the liberty to edit the Linux installation howto a bit. Mainly, I moved parts thereof to own pages and removed them from the main description. Maybe it helps to make the howto even more clear to a new user.

No worry - I like the changes much! Thanks for your effort!
