HP produces a selection of image scanners beneath the "Scanjet" naming specification that run below now supported Windows working programs. These operating systems contain Windows XP, Windows Vista also Windows 7. As with all devices, you must set up device drivers prior to using the scanner, and you should furthermore remove the drivers if you no longer wish to use the HP scanner or you desire to install new drivers. Removing the device driver for your HP scanner will make it not possible for your scanner to communicate by means of and interface with your computer. Uninstalling the driver will not simultaneously remove HP-branded software you installed, such since HP Photograph and Imaging Software or HP Scanjet Scanning Software. You must open "Add & Remove Systems" or "Programs & Features" from the Control Panel and uninstall HP scanner-related systems manually.

1 Start the computer, also login to an administrator-level account. Click on "Start," then "Manage Panel." Click on "Classic View" in the remaining column, if applicable.

2 Double-click "Program." Click on "Device Executive" in the remaining column inside Windows Vista and Windows 7. Click on the "Hardware" tab, then "Device Chief," in Windows XP.

3 Double-click "Imaging Devices" to expand the category, then double-click on your HP scanner.

4 Click on the "Driver" tab. Click "Uninstall." Click the box next to "Delete the driver software for this gadget," then click the "Alright" button.

5 Change off the scanner, also disconnect it out of your computer if it is still connected, then restart the computer.

Tips & Warnings

Click on "View," subsequently "Show Hidden Devices" inside the Device Manager (subsequent Step 2) if you have already disconnected the HP scanner from your PC.
