Digital light projection (DLP) HDTVs use an incandescent bulb to project the Tv signal onto the rear-projection screen. The lifetime of the bulb is rated in the manufacturer of the HDTV--for example, the Samsung institution--using a built-with countdown bulb timer. The lamp timer must be reset to zero once the new bulb has been installed. You can reset the lamp timer of a Samsung HDTV through activating the support menu. This should be done immediately after the new bulb has been installed.
