The Mod

Below are the pictures of the ALPS SD/MMC socket (P/N: SCDA1AA0701) implanted into the SIEMENS Simpad SL4 casing.

Under the SD/MMC socket in the left bottom corner you can see a serial bluetooth module.

Here's Guylhem's mod, where wiring schemantics and the driver source code can be found. The driver has some issues, i.e. when initializing after being loaded it can't read partition table of the card. In this case, a BLKRRPART ioctl() call can be used to re-read it. Here's a simple script I use to load the driver on my Simpad SL4. Also, Guylhem mentioned that filesystem on the card can get corrupted if not unmounted before suspending. I haven't experienced this problem myself yet. BTW, I'm powering the socket from +3.3V line off JTAG testing pads.
